Jade Rose, Artist

In addition to two master’s degrees, one in Fine Art and another in Social Work, Jade Rose holds certifications in and has taught Pranakriya yoga and meditation since 2008. These sacred practices and their long-held belief in the unity of all beings, is evidenced in her paintings, writings, and life philosophy. The abstract realism of Jade’s work reflects her vision: “that we are one with our breath, with the water we drink, and with the mountains we see”.

Commissions

Working primarily on commissions, Jade has developed a process all her own. Starting with an in-depth conversation with the prospective client(s), they feel into the energies, colors and images the they desire to bring into their lives, often traveling to the client’s home to witness the play of light in the room intended for the commission. Jade then works for months on the painting(s) which are sized and priced to suit the clients’ lives.  The months of creation inevitably lead to a series of engaging communication, interspersed with progression photos and brief interviews, as the creative process unfolds.

A client for whom Jade recently painted a large tryptic said of the process,

“Jade, You fill my heart. You bring the essence forward, these are not paintings but murmurations of the spirits you pick up and put on canvas. Thank you, thank you.”

Jade works on every scale, from small, realistic portraits of animals and people, to large scale images that range from pure abstraction, to trees or mountain scapes and, at times, the weird and wonderful space between — capturing the desires and needs of their clients.
